The short version: this site doesn’t advertise to you and doesn’t follow you around other websites. The only thing we’d like to do is count visits, and that only happens if you say yes.
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. Some are needed for a site to remember something you’ve chosen. Others are there to count visitors. The law treats those differently, and so do we.
Before you press anything on the cookie message, neither this site nor Google sets any cookie. After that:
That’s everything this site and Google Analytics set. There are no advertising cookies on this site.
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site, which pages they look at, and how many go on to WhatsApp us, phone us, email us or send the enquiry form. It’s counting, not watching: it doesn’t tell us who you are, and we never send it your phone number, your email address or anything you type into the form.
Google does get the technical details any website you visit gets, such as your IP address and the kind of device and browser you’re using. What Google does with those is covered by its own privacy policy.
It only runs if you press Accept on the cookie message at the bottom of the screen. Press Reject and nothing loads, on this page or any other, now or next time, until you change your mind.
Saying no changes nothing about using the site. Messaging us, calling us, the enquiry form and the photos all work exactly the same either way.
Whatever you chose, you can change it. Saying no later is as easy as saying yes was.
You can also clear this site’s cookies in your browser settings, which wipes your choice and Google’s cookies along with it. On a phone that’s usually under Settings, then Privacy.
The lettering on this site comes from the site itself, not from Google Fonts. It doesn’t set cookies, and Google’s servers don’t see your IP address when your browser fetches it.
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which may set a short-lived cookie of its own to tell real visitors apart from bots. That one comes from Cloudflare, not from us or Google Analytics, and it can appear whatever you choose above. It’s there to keep the site up, not to learn anything about you.
The WhatsApp and Google links, and the link to our web developer, go to other companies’ sites. What they do once you’re there is covered by their own policies, not this one.
If you have a question about any of this, WhatsApp us or give us a call on 07833 369911, or email info@gjhjoineryservices.co.uk.
If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
